I received my first package today. I install it and when I got the bees off the queen cage she was dead. There were no nurse bees and the can of syurp did not have but two holes, is this normal? Do you think Rossman will replace the queen? Its to late to call now. Thanks for the help.

I have already put the bees in the hive. I took the queen out and lay the box she was in on top of the frames till I put the bees in. When I went to take the cork out I seen she was dead.

It will come in a wooden 3 hole queen cage just like the other one was in. I guess the bees are still in your hive? I would not open the hive until you get the new queen. When you do, take a toothpick and drill a hole all the way thru the queen candy, not big enough for her to walk out just the diameter of the toothpick. Hang the cage CANDY side UP. Leave them alone for 6 or 7 days. Be sure to keep feed on them until they have drawn out all the foundation that you intend for them to have as a brood nest.

Good Luck,
Gary
