Dead drones at hive entrance?

1575 Views 4 Replies 5 Participants Last post by  ghulst
I noticed yesterday morning a bunch (10-15) dead drone pupae at the hive entrance. They looked to be almost fully developed. The hive is a very healthy package from this 2010 spring.
Just curious if anyone has seen this and what it might mean?
Thanks

It is getting to that time of year when it sucks to be a drone. Your bees are just getting prepared for winter and dont want any freeloaders in the hive. Nothing to worry about.
If only I was able to do the same with the wife and kids.
In my neck of the woods fall means death to drones.
I'm starting to see drone corpses too... it's that time of the year! Boot the lazy devils out. ;)
I got a very nice swarm Saterday. Hope the dromes did their job.
