Extracted some honey and set my capping tank outside for clean up. I seprated it so the capping were in one tub and what leftover honey there was was in the bottom tub. I put it out today and it took no time for the bees to find it. I just took a look at it and there were no bees in the tub with the cappings but a large quanity (100-150) of dead bees in the bigger tub. Any ideas, did I do something dumb. Thanks

That's what happens during a robbing frenzy. Bees will fight and walk all over each other. Some will get stuck in the honey. After the battle is done you will see the outcome-Dead bees.

Also what you start when doing what you did is when that easy food source is done they start robbing out other hives.

When i am done, I always take my extractor back outside and let the sun wrm it up. Once its warm, I turn it up so I can get the rest of the honey out, as much as possible, then i let them have that. Did the same thing you did the first time, never again.....
