Day 3 after install

Hey guys it's ben again . Well it's been three days after installing bees and I went to check syrup on both hives . Both jars are halfway down ( one slightly more) .i haven't checked if the queen has been released yet. I was going to wait till day 5 . And I still have the inserts in the ipm boards . Do I need to take the inserts out ? Should I check on the queen ealier? Thanks for the inputs
