At one time, using grease patties for tracheal mites was pretty common, but in most places, tracheal mites aren't much of a problem anymore. Some folks are experimenting with grease patties combined with essential oils as a possible varroa treatment, but I haven't read any research on whether that's effective or not.
crisco patties
Have read about making crisco patties to help with tracheal mites (mixed with sugar and salt lick feed minerals) does anyone have an opinion on this?
