This tree removal guy calls me said he always cuts down bee trees and wants to start keeping the bees. In fact a month ago he cut down a tree, with bees, threw all the comb in the bottom of a new box, no frames then placed another box with frames on top. He invited me over to inspect the hive. There had to be 100 pounds of winding and twisting blob of comb in the bottom box. However in a few areas this blob spiraled up to the frames and started to climb them. Are there any suggestions or solutions to bees building from the bottom up? I did see capped brood though.
