Hi all,

I picked up a nuke about a month ago. I've had a population explosion :D

All my frames but 1 where drawn out and full.

I've noticed the past week or so that as I go to peak at the hive they tend to bump me much more.

Is that because they're running out of space?

I've added a super. Hopefully that will cause them to calm down...

thats too late to add space. add space when 7 out of 10 frames are drawn.
2."...Is that because they're running out of space?"
yes, and they now have brood and stores to protect, and more bees available for guards.

hopefully its not a "super", but a brood box.

Stormbringer,

If you only have one hive body, I would certainly add another hive body and not put the super on just yet.

Have you checked for swarm cells along the bottom half of the frames to see if they are building new queens?

Giving them another hive body will allow them the space to work. It should calm them down alot.

Let us know how it goes. Good luck.
