Today in central Ohio we were hot and muggy. A cold front came through about 5 and with it storms a few miles north of the hives. I was out by the hives and all at once all the foragers were headed back to the hive. It was a steady stream of bees for about 4 to 5 minute. It didn't look like they could possibly all fit back in but they all when right in and there were non outbound. Never did rain on the hive so I had to chastise them back to work about an hour later.

Yes, I've seen this a number of times as rain is approaching and it's always a wonderful sight. It's kind of like a reverse swarm. And it's amazing how all my hives will do this at the same time, obviously reacting to the same environmental cues.

That's a good discription, "a reverse swarm"
