All of you out there that use 4 frame nucs....

what are the exterior dimensions? Assuming that you are using standard 3/4" stock.

I want to cut down my 5 frame nucs to 4 so I can fit 2 onto a standard langstroth for the winter.

Thankn you in advance!

I build mine exactly 8 1/8" outside measurments for exactly the reason you want to do it. That's half of a 10 frame Langstroth box.

Personally, I'd keep the five frame nucs and build a couple of four frame ones instead. Both are nice to have around. Nucs do well with just the room they can manage.

I have them in a range of sizes from 2 to 10. To be specific I have 2,3,4,5,8 and 10 frame nucs. Usually these have a bottom attached and are used for starting a colony or mating a queen.

Hey Hill, in case you haven't thought of it; sounds like you might just use a full size box with a divider board in the middle. Put the two entrances on opposite sides. Two five frame nucs. I'm not saying you should, just thought I'd mention it.
