Hi everyone from the western suburbs of Chicago where it's FINALLY summer! We have two hives in our back yard, one of which was struggling and most likely queenless. Last week we decided to combine with the stronger hive, using the newspaper method. But...now what? We have two lower brood boxes from the strong hive, a layer of newspaper, a brood box from the weak hive and a super on top. Should we just keep the three brood boxes on or...somehow consolidate them back into two brood boxes? Activity wise, things seem ok and I don't see any signs of a bee apocalypse from combining the two. Thank you in advance.

Was checking this forum and noticed nobody replied to your post. Sometimes they get overlooked and you shouldn't conclude that members here are not willing to help.
Hope your combine was successful! J
