I can get a 10 gallon commercial coffee urn for $30.00. It is stainless steel and double wall and I am wondering it this would make a good bottling tank. I can modify it so I can fill the void around the outside with hot water and the dispensing "valve" looks to be large enough for honey to flow freely or I can remove it and install a larger gate type. Is this worth the $ and effort? I cannot justify the cost of a bottling tank and have been using a home made one which is a 5-gallon bucket and honey gate.
Thanks-Howard

It will work but you will want at least a 1" outlet. I've got a 5 gallon one that has a 3/4" outlet and the honey needs to be 100 deg or better to get a good flow of honey to come out.

That is an awfully attractive price. However you will have to have some external temperature controller or you will burn the honey.
