I borrowed a jacket/veil to do a cutout, got bee poo all over it. Naturally, the jacket/veil were hospital clean when I borrowed them. I machine washed the jacket, but tried to hand wash the veil (the kind listed in Dadant as a cricket combo). Anyone know if the veil is machine washable? I apparently would look like sin if I had to wash my clothes by hand.

Ask the owner of the gear what they want you to do with it. It's made to be used and when you are a "beekeeper" your gear will look used.

Roger that. They bought the gear, and stopped just shy of getting bees, so I've broken it in for them

If you are worried about the veil, since it seems you didn't have your own, you could buy it from them or buy them another. Then you will have one for the next times you are in your cut out bees.

I have veil, but those jacket/veil combos are like ft knox.
I had a helper with me, and for some reason he insisted on wearing a veil, too

@beedeetee lol.
