I was checkin my bees yesterday. They still have alot of dry sugar on top of the frames( mountain camp). what do you usually do with the left over sugar. Will they continue to feed on it? do you clean it out and make 1/1 surup with it? if so at what point do you do this. I know that my bees are still feeding on the sugar currently and i know its to early to do anything yet. i am just looking ahead.

thankyou

If you poured the sugar onto a sheet of newspaper, you might be able to lift it all off gently in one piece. I was able to do that, since the sugar sort of gets a crust over it that holds it together. Is you sugar still dry and loose? Perhaps you could spray it with water, then let it dry to a crust and spatula it off in chunks?

When it is warm enough for them to bee flying remove it and make syrup with it. That will give the bees some stimulation with the early pollen.
