I was finally able to check the girls after doing my split last week. All looks great. I did not go into either hive, but I just sat around and watched them. All looks well, I even got to see them orientate! I absolutely love seeing that. The new hive did their orientation first and looked great! That caused the older hive to orientate. Boy are my drones huge! They are just big, fat, and very juicy looking. I have an anole while lives on the hive, and it quiet large as well. I live in the city of Ormond beach, and we have more wildlife here, than we did living next to a wildlife preserve. Their temperament is so calm and easy to work with. I did put a 1/4 pollen patty on both hives yesterday morning because of the bad weather we were expecting. Even then I didn't need to suite up, I did a bit, just to be on the safe side. The one time I didn't, I go a very exuberant greeting from all.
