Hi there, this is my first year beekeeping. Everything has been going very good so far and the bees look very productive and appear to be expanding in population. They've drawn out 6 frames so far so I'm preparing to add another box on top. However, there is an issue. I don't know how it slipped past me but my box is not level on one of its sides so there's a gap that they used for a short time as an entrance. I decided it was not good for the hive for an opening along the stretch of the hive to bee accessible to things such as ants and flies. For the time I've blocked it off with duct tape. But with the adding of a new brood box soon I've been wondering if it would be okay for the bees if I swapped out the bottom box, of course keeping all the frames in order, etc. If only to eliminate the duct tape. Would this put to much stress on the bees though? Thanks in advance.
