can you use a nuc box for a cellbuilder if your only starting 15-20 cells? can you build it strong enough, and then split it into 3 frame nucs for your queen cells? i'm starting my second attempt at queen's, they made me one cell the first time out of 8. thought i would try a different method of cell building.

you sure can they will build several cells if you do it wright

These were done in a 1/2 frame length 9 1/8" 5 frame mating nuc loaded with young nurse bees

The main thing is that it needs to be overflowing with bees. Any size hive overflowing with bees that has resources (honey and pollen) can do a good job of rearing queens.
