Caught my first swarm today it was 40 ft up in an oak tree bigger than a basket ball but smaller than a beach ball
( had to use a 50 ft man lift to get them )
will post pics later
i have the bees in a 40 gal rubbermaid container with the lid propped up
what is the best way to relocate them to a new hive
1... put a stick and see if they will ball up on the stick over night ?
2 tap all the bee to the bottom of the container and pour them in to the new hive
3 is it better to do it in the morning or now its it 1 hr before dark
thanks

Just dump them into the new hive, now is fine. The closer to dark the better, they wont fly off. Also, if you have an extra queen excluder, you can cut it up and put it along the entrance, then the queen can't fly away.
