I caught a swarm about 2 weeks ago and got into it last Tuesday. Everything looks good, they are drawing comb like champs and the queen had been laying. I have been feeding them. They are really taking the 1:1 syrup. Just want to make sure they aren't cross combing or anything like that.

Personal preference really. I'd open it once every week or so during nectar flows. For a newly installed swarm, I'd just be peeking down through the frames to see how they are drawing the comb to make sure and get another hive body up top at the right time. If you are new to beekeeping, open it up as much as you want, it's the best way to learn about those critters.
