Actually I think that's a Burr Oak. It has those huge acorns. Yeah, we were lucky they landed in the oak tree just about 15ft in front of the hive and about 12 to 15 foot up in the tree.
Any higher and we would have had to let them go.
That's a pretty good swarm. The branch they are on is about 2 inches thick, where they are. I put them in a medium and I don't think it's enough room, so I'm adding another medium in the morning. Sorry I didn't get photos of the catch itself, but we were pretty busy.
