I found a bunch of workers balling this guy in the bottoms of the hive. I think it's a carpenter bee.

Carpenter. I find atleast 1 infront of the hives each year. If its dry, you'll find more.

It has the shiny abdomen. Looks skinnier than the ones we have, though. One of our hives has killed at least three this year.
