Anybody give me an idea of the value of a hive of Carniolan bees. Double deeps, new queen, "some" honey, advertised as "strong". I have not inspected them yet, but will be this weekend. I am aware of the risks of buying used equipment and will be checking for AFB, mites, etc. Thanks

$150.00-$250.00 depending on how "strong". You can buy another queen and split it to make 2 hives so you will have 2 singles. How new is the equipment? Avg condition with all dark comb with patches of drone cells I wouldn't pay more than $200.00. Newer equipment, good paint, and light combs is worth more.
