A short while back this forum gave me helpful advice on eliminating an ill placed and aggressive wild colony. I mentioned that we have a thriving wild and tended bee population on St. Croix, in the Virgin Islands, as do most of the Lesser and Greater Antilles.

After some years of inattention, small plot farming, bee keeping and other small family and community efforts are again vibrant. A shocking decrease in employment opportunity has been the catalyst but in the long run we hope to be headed toward a better balance.
