I recently captured a swarm from a tree that was cut down. Unfortunately, the queen flew off to another tree before I got there, and the brood must have gotten cold, because it all died. Once I realized that they were not going to produce a queen on their own, I purchased one. By that time, however alot of the bees had left the hive, or died. I would say there is maybe a baseball size clump of bees left in the hive. She's been in there for a week now (out of her cage), and I haven't checked on her yet, but there is not much bee activity outside the hive. Just a few guards. My question is this: I have another wild hive on my property in the base of a tree. I could set this weak hive next to the tree, and do a trapout to get the foragers into this weak hive, but would I bee risking them killing the queen? I could also set a nuc next to this tree, and capture the foragers that way, but then how do I get them in my weak hive. Newspaper method, or just move frames with bees on them?

What is my best option?
