Folks, what are the chances a capped queen cell that has endured a recent river flood (!) would be viable? Our friends awoke yesterday to see the rising Stones River sucking away their garden and three hives with it. They dove into the muck and got almost everything onto higher ground, but not before several boxes were filled with water. We spent the afternoon disassembling the boxes and bees that they were able to save, found one bedraggled queen and several frames of capped brood and capped queen cells. Anyone have experience with this to know whether any of the brood or the queen might emerge? I have my doubts, but they are under wax cappings. Thanks!
