Here's one that I use for candy boards

Bee Fondant

Ingredients:
8 cups granulated sugar
2 cups water
1/2 tablespoon White Vinegar

Procedure:
1.) Pour sugar, water, and vinegar into saucepan.
Bring to boil stirring constantly.
2.) Cover and boil 5 minutes.
3.) Insert candy thermometer. Continue to boil
uncovered until temperature reaches 234 deg F.
4.) Remove from heat and cool to 200 deg F.
5.) Whip with an electric mixer until mixture
begins to turn white with air bubbles
dispersed throughout.
6.) Quickly pour into molds.
7.) Allow to cool undisturbed.

There are a host of different fondant recipes, depending on your end use.

This one, for bees, just gives you a block of white candy.

Any reason why apple cider vinegar wouldn't work instead of white vinegar? I add apple cider vinegar to the bee's syrup to stave off mold, and honestly, the bees consume it faster than they do non-vinegared syrup.

Thanks for the recipe!

cdraves,
This recipe, the candy should harden up once it cools. It will still be on the brittle side but can be handled just fine.

Lupine,
Never tried apple cider vinegar, but it sounds like it will perform the same function.
