Candle Wick Size?

1247 Views 1 Reply 2 Participants Last post by  JWPalmer
I am cleaning up some old frames of brood comb to cycle out the old stuff. Since the wax is less than ideal I won't be making anything cosmetic with it. When I last made candles I bought #3 square cotton braid. It is too small for mason jars and was a waste of $ and time.

Can anyone share what they use for mason jar candles, regular and wide mouth? Thanks.

According to these folks, you should be using a #4 square braid for almost all large beeswax candles. The website has a selector guide.

I think the ones I am using for my 3x3 container candles was listed as 2mm.
