Don't think its native...central North Carolina. The bees are all over it, but its also about the only thing in bloom except for Sumac.

Just saw one this week off of I-20 in Columbia, SC. It was covered from top to bottom with bumblebees. Never seen anything like it. Took a pic of it to try to get SCDNR to identify it, but work was too busy. It was planted in a hedgerow beside a business.

I spent the spring in the piedmont and then headed north for the summer. Left as Tulip Poplar ended. Has the clover all ended in the recent heat?
