Just saw one this week off of I-20 in Columbia, SC. It was covered from top to bottom with bumblebees. Never seen anything like it. Took a pic of it to try to get SCDNR to identify it, but work was too busy. It was planted in a hedgerow beside a business.golden rain tree, native to china
I spent the spring in the piedmont and then headed north for the summer. Left as Tulip Poplar ended. Has the clover all ended in the recent heat?Don't think its native...central North Carolina. The bees are all over it, but its also about the only thing in bloom except for Sumac.
Thanx
