I just found and collected a big primary swarm from my one main hive.I have not opened up and inspected main hive as it has been windy ,windy, windy and fairly cool for Calif.desert.And figured I had a little time based on past swarm and bloom records. But that did not stop the bees from building up and casting their 1st swarm. My question is now can I hope for any success of preventing secondary swarms by opening up the brood nest and adding supers?By the way that big ol' swarm is pretty lucky they got stuck in a box yesterday because today it is snowing!April in the desert. Thanks for some opinions.
