Would like opinions on buying the wooden ware from a small operator. At their peak they had 100 + colonies. The state inspector said he ran a clean operation. Will be buying in bulk of 50 to 100 brood/med. boxes inner and outer covers, bottoms and nice home made top feeders.
His widow will not price it,said for me to give her a price and she would accept or not.The supers with drawn comb will go with the colonies of bees, which at this time I,m not interested in.
A lot of the brood and mediums have drawn comb but were not protected from wax moths,so to me they are trash.
How does one price this type of equipment? My thought was to figure the life of 10 years and go from their.
Thanks for any helpful suggestions.

I would offer 75-50% off new based on age and condition. The equipment in poor shape, splits, rot, cracks, seperating, is not worth much, perhaps swarm traps.

Probably $50-25 for a complete hive without frames 2 deeps, 2 mediums, top and bottom cover.
