To supplement when you run out of your own bees when filling orders for packages.
For stocking mating nucs.
For making nucs from just frames of brood/honey/pollen.
Whatever you could use bees for if you don't have enough of your own.
Yeah, I don't know about either one of those. I'm still at the 3lb package level. But, R. Weavers says on their website that
they'll buy bees in bulk in late spring to make packages and add a Weaver queen.
