Can I get some feedback on the bucket feeders vs divisional board feeders, This year I had 7 divisional board feeders and one bucket feeder the hive with the bucket feeder has done really bad compared to the hives with the divisional board feeder, the bees don’t seem to be using as much feed out of the bucket

Any thoughts

Thanks

I have both. I usually use buckets because they are easier to refill and they don't drown any bees. I use the frame feeders in 5 frame nucs and mating nucs now and buckets for hive feeding.

The downside to buckets is that you need an empty box for each bucket.

I use the bucket feeders for slow stimulative feeding and the division board feeders for putting weight on the hives or to draw out wax.
The bucket feder does not need a super over it.

i took all my frame feeders to the ky beekeepers meeting at walter kellys and put a sign on 'em- "free, use at your own risk" drowned too many bees for me. i use bucket feeders on 3/8 spacers on the top frames. if yours wont work, try a spacer, and more holes. i use a frame nail to make the holes. good luck, mike
