If I pull my queens to a nuc in each of my hives and allow for a brood break for the blackberry flow any downside? I have enough fresh queens for all my hives but they are in nucs and I figure I can get a brood break to knock the mites down, get more honey and drop a nuc on any box that does not mate successfully and not spend my overwinter stock.
Any downsides?
Professor gave a lecture on requeening for the hobbyist and strongly suggested that the reason that the Willamette valley hobbyists are having a survival rate of 33% and the commercial guys above 80% is that they requeen regularly.
