Personally I would resist open feeding this time of year...it will sure get them worked up.
bringing in a new hive to yard
Hello all, I have two hives in yard that I started 3-4 weeks ago from two 5 frame nucs. Since its late and I was trying to get them built up, I have been feeding 1/1 . The new hive I am bringing in (KTBH) is loaded with bees, have not been feed. Am I going to create a robbing frenzy on my other two hives if I continue to feed them? Would it be better to open feed? I would hate to bring in even more outside robbers.

As long as your feeding method restricts feeding only to the hives you intend to feed this will not be a problem.
Open feeding will whip up a robbing frenzy in short order. If you decide on this method keep the open feed at least 100 yards away from the hive. Any other hive within a couple of miles will also love you for it, along with any hornet or wasps in the area. But they got to eat too!

Thanks for your input, I have top feeders on hives now, so it looks like I can just continue.
