Pretty weak year for the Blue Bonnets here. Good crop but could have been many more. The heavy fall rains but a damper on them. After the El Nino and a drier fall this year they will be gangbusters next spring.

Your picks look great.

They used to be wild in Texas and DOT sure didn't have to plant. Before all the permanent hayfields many areas in Texas would look like large lakes from the solid blue color. Just a memory in my mind now unfortunately.

Thanks for the post and the memories.
Kindest Regards
Danny

In the bottom picture - are the small red flowers Indian Paintbrush?

I lived in OK for 12 years - I don't miss the heat, but I do miss the southern prairie flowers. We don't get much paintbrush up here.

Oh, and one more thing-

BOOMER SOONER!:D
