Good morning all! I haven't been here for a number of years, but am back again. I used to be Martha in KC, but we moved to rural Odessa, MO.
I am planning to place a bait hive or two on my land. I have pasture surrounded on 3 sides by woods with a creek and break of trees with a corn/soybean field. I have honey locust, hedge, hawthorn and oak in the woods. I do not have a nuc box, so, I was thinking of using a medium super (10 frame) for the bait boxes. Where would be the best place? Edge of the woods? in the woods? in the pasture just outside the woods (there are a few trees in the pasture)? And how high up should the box be? I could also make a platform about 3-4 high rather than up in a tree too. Thanks so much for any advice!
