You need to get under the comb with something like an umbrella, clamshell or corkscrew. I would put a wire through an oval (really elliptical) piece so that when it is pulled up the rod is on the lower third and it extends to the casing on all sides. pull what you can up. If they just wash it into the well where is the brood, bacteria and pathenogens? I sure hope you would not drink from the well if that is the solution.
