Just saw something strange to me...bees in the bird feeder. They were foraging for pollen I suspect and it was so funny to watch them dig in the feed like it was dirt. What caught my attention was when I walked by the feeder I saw seed shooting out of a hole...and I mean shooting! After a couple minutes here comes one of the girls flying out with what appeared to be a white pollen. It was very interesting and funny to watch them.

Try adding some pollen to the feeder or some pollen substitute mixed with pollen or just some substitute or just some soy flour. Any of those will be more nutritious and they will go crazy for them until the real pollen is available.

There is an article in ABJ Feb. on that subject.
