Another beginner question.

I transfer frames from hive to hive for all kind of purposes, like strengthen a hive, adding eggs to queenless hive, etc...
I'm shaking the frame and then move it with something like 20-30% bees population.

My question: Do i start a war in the hive, between the native bees population and the new visitors ? Does they accept them and if yes, why?

Thanks alot

It really depends on two things - Are they older foragers or younger nurse workers. Younger nurse workers are more accepting. Is there food coming in or do they need to be defensive to survive. I put five frames in a hive with one ten frame brood box. They changed their tone for a couple minutes and went on to be an excellent hive. The five frames were brood and bees. Not the best way to move in strangers, but these Cordovans are sugarsweet calm and forgiving.

Usually not a problem as the field bees are going to immediately skedaddle back to their original hive leaving the nurse bees in the new hive.
