In the last 4 days only in the morning I see a very large number of bees clustered on the front of both of my hives. Later in the day they are all out gathering and going in and out of the hive. I added an another honey super but they still cluster by the front entrance in the morning. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

They like to have their coffee on the front porch in the morning before going to work.....normal activity.

I think that they are regulating the temperature in the hive using the least amount of energy (honey) they can. It is normal here. It was cooler yesterday morning; were they doing it then?

It was about 65 this AM but getting into the 90s during the day. We are at 4800 ft here

Mine beard less when the top is ventilated with a couple of shims, less "cooling buzz" too.

Mine are doing it at sunset and are still there at sunrise. I have gotten use to it as pretty normal during our short summers
