I noticed more bees on the outside of the hive today which seemed strange because it has been a cool day here compared to recent weather. I walked down to see what they were doing and I will try to describe it the best I can. About 150 to 200 bees were outside the entrance on the outer body of the hive. They seemed to be lined up. I am serious. They were not the usual chaotic bunch. Every last one of them had its head down and its mouth on the outer hive. They seemed to be licking something of the hive. Also, every one of them would take a step forward and a step back over and over and over.

Is there any significance to this or is it just a bee hoedown?
