Does anyone have plans or can someone direct me to a link for plans to build a bee cage? (the kind one would see at the fair that would hold a hive & allow beekeeper to go in to do demonstrations)

thanks

I am still new at this but I think you are talking about an observation hive you can just type in honey bee observation hive and it will pull up many search results. This is a link that I just pulled up

Hope this helped you out.
no, i'm talking about a cage big enough for a person to go into to do beekeeping demonstrations at the fair.
Never heard of or seen one of those? See plenty of observation hives setup at fairs by local beekeeper associations for the public to view. If you have an opened hive in a big screened cage they'll still be a few able to get out when the door is opened. Interesting concept, post info when you get it.
There is a pic of one in the latest abj.

I believe i found one that you could go by a visual and build one custom made to your own liking!!...Here is a link of a bee cage, a beekeeper is inside it vacuuming the flyers in the cage! That cage looks really nice!!!

KFApiary, HoneyBeek, Never seen one but that is cool. So this is to work a hive where the public can watch without wearing bee protection? I would think you could make any size framework screen it and add an entry door.

Yes you can be inside the cage and work the hive while everyone thats outside the cage doesnt have to wear any bee protection. The audience of all ages can have a up front face to face exsperience and learn more about the honey bee!

The structure can be custom built to fit your needs! That one is pretty fancy and everyone can stand around the cage and view from all angles..Its a nice item for those who travel to different events and to schools perhaps to teach the younger generation!
that one is very nicely built! I bet it is Heavy!

maybe you could make one out of aluminum poles or something lighter...

just rambling here:scratch:
Good pic honeybeekeeper :applause:
