Hi,

Something has been bugging me for ages about Ashy Miner Bees and it's the three black bumps on the back of their head; logic is saying it's some sort of light detection 'eyes' to help keep them safe from predators, but I don't know for sure!

I have attached a stunning image from Craig Taylor to show these 'eyes'.

Can any one help?

Thanks,
Nat
