So today I got a call about some bees in a shipping pallet, I was expecting yellow jackets and was supprised when it was in fact honey bees. However they were not nesting in the pallets, they were coming to feed, on what I have no idea.
The pallets were made from laminated plywood and the bees were feeding on the sides. They had been outside for about a month and were seperating like plywood does when wet.
I figure either something in the glue or possibly just getting water, although they were not noticably wet.
Any ideas ?
I also left a bait hive behind in case they are ferral and swarm, figure it does not hurt to try.
