I managed to come through the winter with my hive pretty strong. One full brood box and half of another. Yeah!!!! I have another swarm of bees coming on April 5. Now for the questions.

1. I confiscated two frames of empty comb from my first hive to place in my new hive. Does it matter what slot that I put it in the brood box?

2. Would it be a good idea to grab a frame of capped brood from my other hive and stick in the new hive to give them a quicker take off.

Thanks guys and gals

A frame of brood will give them a BIG jump start, I always start them in the center of the box.

The only "stupid question" is the one you dont ask

Just remember that stupid "implies... lack of intelligence or incapacity for learning, perceiving, etc." - so no matter what you were told, you wouldn't be able to act on it.:s

Ignorant is "lacking knowledge, education or experience".

I'm ignorant to the answer of your question, but you can probably expect one shortly.

Another 'S' word also comes to mind in that case - stubborn
