Looks like a type of passion fruit flower? I was just looking at those on a seed catalog earlier today, wishing I was in a climate warm enough to have one.

Maypop overwinters in MO. I believe it's related. The flowers look similar. I have but it's only 6 inches tall. Planted it last fall. It's from Oikos tree crops.

I agree with Barry ( pix 1). They can be planted as an annual in containers. The theory does...thriller, filler & spiller. The passion flower on a trellis, in a pot, is the "thriller", then add filler plants ( petunias, ivy geraniums, etc) & a "spiller plant" (ivy, sweet potato vine, etc.) AND you will have a beautiful pot to enjoy til frost...Just my 2 cents.
