2013 California almond acreage up slightly from 2012-- This year California is facing a record-breaking drought, but last year the state saw record breaking almond acreage. The National Agriculture Statistics Service estimates California produced a record 940,000 acres, of that 840,000 were bearing and 100,000 were non-bearing.
