I saw a little something today online -- to the effect that since Afric'd bees were introduced to America, their tendencies for "aggression" and swarming have become modified (through interbreeding with native and introduced bees). Anybody have any speculation -- or better yet, data -- as to if that's really the case?

I have no data, but I am in an area with confirmed africanized bees in 2 counties joining my county. They were confirmed by the state 5 or 6 years ago. I have caught several swarms from my county and I have not found a swarm yet that I would even call a mean hive. I know they have problems with them in the south west part of the nation. But I think there genes get diluted the further east and north they go.
