Attention Vermont beekeepers! I received a notice from the VBA that AFB has been confirmed in Orwell and in Windham County. The notice said "multiple cases" in Orwell and "one case" in Windham County. Take care. J

One was found in New Boston, New Hampshire (west of Manchester) a few weeks ago.

Also Orwell is the home of Singing Cedars Apiaries.

I hope for everyone that it is not SC. They must be having sleepless nights. They are still selling queens so I am assuming it is not them. But does anyone know if queen sales would still be allowed if there was AFB in their apiary? I would think not but don't know enough about the disease to be sure. J
