Through a series of mistakes I ended up with our most productive hive queenless. I have three other hives next to it, and one in a trap hanging in a tree. The trap has been active for about two weeks. It's a five frame deep that had one drawn older frame and four frames of foundation. Should I combine the swarm using a screen board or just add a couple frames of brood and let them raise their own queen? I've heard of people accidentally taking the queen with the frames of brood and eggs, and making the doner hive queenless. I'm a little queen aprehensive right now, so even though it's probably more work, I'm leaning toward the combine.
