Right now we are using all 10 frame equipment, Deeps for drood and medium for honey. 10 frame deeps are getting heavy. All my nucs are deep.

Have thought about going to all medium but dont want to have to cut down 250 deep boxes and frames. But could cut deep boxes down to 8 frame pretty easy and still use frames.

Anybody out there using 8 frame deeps?

Yes. My son and I use all 8 frame deeps for brood boxes. We also use them as honey supers in order to get drawn comb for splits etc. Yes, they are lighter and easier to handle.:D And yes, if you've heard that the bees run brood from wall to wall, it's often true! But, during a heavy flow you need to stay way ahead with supers because they'll fill the smaller boxes up in a hurry and go elsewhere to live! :D
